“The sea called my soul and I answered with all my heart”

Who we are?

Ocean Lovers Taganga is owned by Lisi, a PADI Elite Scuba Instructor from Austria. After traveling and working across the globe for many years, she finally settled on the Caribbean coast of Colombia and established her own PADI 5* Dive Resort. Ocean Lovers Taganga is dedicated to safe and fun scuba diving adventures in the Tayrona National Park.

Here at Ocean Lovers, we have an international team of professional, experienced and enthusiastic PADI Scuba Diving Instructors. Rest assured that we will take personal care of you and make sure you will have a safe and memorable experience. We only teach and guide small groups, so we can guarantee that you are getting the best service and personalized, individual attention.

Our staff members have been working in the diving industry for many years and have introduced several thousand people to the underwater world. Our instructors have taught PADI courses, from beginners to professionals, all around the globe. All of our divers and students endorse them as great instructors and appreciate their patient, relaxed and positive attitude. Safety is the most important thing during our lessons, but always combined with lots of fun & laughter. Our instructors all have experience with a wide range of students, people from all walks of life and with a range of abilities. This means they can adjust the course and teaching styles to meet the needs of everyone.

Why we love scuba diving?

Scuba diving is our passion and we want to share everything we know about diving with as many people as possible. It is both relaxing and exciting at the same time, and allows you to explore a completely different world. It also allows you to see a very different side to Colombia! Scuba diving is an incredible sport that connects people from all around the world and allows sharing a unique and magical experience. It is a great hobby for making new friends. We love everything about scuba diving, the way of life, the people we meet, the lives we change and the sense of achievement we get from teaching and sharing this passion.

What every instructor enjoys the most is seeing people learning to dive, overcoming their fears and progress through the courses. We want our students become safe and responsible divers, who care about the ocean as much as we do

Meet the team!

  • Emma
    Emma Boss

Hello, I’m Emma. To be honest I am the real owner of Ocean Lovers. As Lisi saved me in 2018 as a street dog I would have never imagined that I would ever own such a nice place. I really want to protect my owner Lisi so if I bark at you don’t worry, I’m really friendly.

  • Lisi
    Lisi Owner/Instructor

Hey I’m Lisi! Originally I’m from Austria. I spent many years working as a dive instructor. After freelancing for a while in Taganga, I finally made my dream of owning my own dive centre a reality. I worked in many dive destinations around the world, and have years of experience teaching all courses from beginner to professionals! Always open for a chat, I can talk for hours about diving (and pretty much anything else!) and welcome you to Ocean Lovers as if you are a long lost friend!

  • Ada
    Ada Administrator

Hola, my name is Ada. Typically I’m the first person to greet you in the Dive Centre. I am a PADI Divemaster but now I prefer to stay dry and keep the shop organized. I have lived in Taganga for 30 years, and have a lot of knowledge on the local area. Always on hand to help you book a PADI course or some fun diving, I have an infectious laugh that can be heard all through the dive centre.

  • Steven
    Steven Booking manager

Hey Guys, I’m Steven! I work together with Ada in the office of Oceanlovers. Whenever you want to book a Fun Dive or course with us or if you just want to get information I will help you out with that! I grew up in Taganga and know this place very well. I also lived for one year in France. When I’m not working I love to be in the nature, if it’s on land or being in the ocean. I like to go fishing and diving and doing any kind of sport like football or hiking. I’m always open for a chat, enjoy making new experiences and learn new things.

  • Nataly
    Nataly Photographer & Divemaster

Nice to meet you! My name is Naty and I’m graphic designer, photographer and PADI Divemaster. When we meet you start to feel a positive vibe, a connection between the sea and the art of photography. I was born in Bogotá, but I’ve always been passionate about the sea. I knew my love for photography from a very young age and bring many years of experience, so that today I can deliver the best memories of your underwater adventures. When I am not diving, I will plan to delight you with the best Argentinian BBQ. Get to know me on my Instagram @natalyfotografascubaacuatica.

  • Yoni
    Yoni Divemaster

Hola Hola! You can call me Yoni. Don’t be fooled by my youthful appearance! I have  been a Divemaster in Taganga for 15 years and am a master at finding the most interesting and hidden animals on the reef. If finding a seahorse is on your agenda, I’m your man! Having always had a love of manual jobs and fixing things, I can often be found around the dive centre fixing or servicing the equipment.

  • Jorge
    Jorge Instructor

Buenas, I am Jorge! When I teach you about diving I can be kind of serious, but believe me I’m one of our most eloquent and funny instructors. Of all underwater life, I love the camouflaged creatures the most, like the stone fish, sea horse and other critters that are hard to spot. I was born in Barranquilla and am a family-oriented man who love football, that I practice in my free time with friends. Many people call me “George” and I am a real ocean lover, which you will instantly discover when meeting me and exploring the underwater world with me.

  • Lucha
    Lucha Instructor

Hey beautiful people, my name is Lucha! I was born in Argentina and came to Taganga 9 years ago. I wanted to travel to Mexico but after I arrived here I never wanted to leave anymore. The first time I was diving was when I was 13 years old. I love the ocean and for me there is no better place to be than in the nature. Other people would describe as a really patient, funny and lovely person. I think this is what makes me a good instructor.

  • Tefy
    Tefy Instructor

Hey, I’m Tefy. Nice to meet you! I was born in Chile but made my Instructor in Ecuador. I really love the ocean. It’s like a different world for me. When I enter the water I’m immediately calm and relaxed. To keep the ocean as beautiful as it is, I want to make you a really good diver and for this I put all my heart into my work. When I’m not diving I love to be creative with doing handcrafts and tattoos. I enjoy being in the nature, spend time with friends and explore new places.

  • Fernando
    Fernando Instructor

Hello my friends, my name is Fernando. I was born in Chile and after my first dive when I was 7 years old I always loved the ocean. So I did my Instructor in Chile and worked in divecenters all over South America. For me diving is like meditation so I can transfer my calmness to my students. I’m a really relaxed person and I take my time for explaining everything and teaching my students. I’m always laughing and if you hear my laughter you need to laugh, too!

  • Cheo
    Cheo Captain

Buenos Dias, I’m Cheo! After spending time in the military I decided to return to Taganga and be captain here. If you need my help or my knowledge I’m there for you. My 2 biggest passions in life are the ocean, and sports! When I am not hauling tanks into our boat and making it look easy, I am playing football for the local team! Not only I am a boat captain, I am also the captain of Taganga’s football team!

  • José
    José Captain

Hola, my name is José. As son of a family of fishermen from Taganga, for me it has always been the most natural thing to be in and on the water. After studying and working in construction for some years, the sea called me back and I started working as a captain. I make my job on ease and it seems like nothing will ever make me loose my calm. Besides my work on the boat I am in the shop fixing and taking care of the equipment and other things. As football is my passion, you will also find me on the field with the local team.

  • Jonathan
    Jonathan Captain

Hola my name is Jonathan. Friends call me Chachi. I’m a captain in Taganga for many years. Like many families from Taganga I’m from a fisherman family, so I always had a special connection to the ocean. Also if you don’t see this on the picture but usually I’m smiling all the time. I’m very social and like to spend time with friends and have a nice chat with people.

  • Emil
    Emil compressor operator

Buenas! My name is Emil. My main task here in the divecenter is to refill the tanks. I studied electronical engineering so if anything here in the divecenter has to be repaired, I’m the right man for this job. My biggest passion is football. I play here in the local team of Taganga and also love to watch football if my favorite team Union Magdalena has a match.

  • Milton
    Milton Receptionist

Hey, I’m Milton. I work in the Apartments of Oceanlovers. I always lived close to the divecenter, just a few houses away. If I am not working or spending time with my 3 kids I enjoy spending time with electronical stuff. I like to play videogames or repair computers or other electronical devices. When you need help with anything, just tell me and I will do my best to help you!

  • Zeiny
    Zeiny receptionist

Hey my name is Zeiny, I’m working at the reception of the hotel. So whenever you have any needs in the hotel I’m the one to help you. I love to bake cakes for birthday parties or do handcrafts. Whenever there must be something done in the hotel, is it painting a wall or carrying stuff around, I also enjoy to help. You can see I am a very creative person and love to do things with my hands.

  • Michu
    Michu Security

You want to know who I am? I’m Michu and Ocean Lovers longest serving member of staff. When Lisi took over in 2017 I came part and parcel with the shop . Notoriously lazy, I can be found lying in the strangest positions. I don’t move often, but when I do it is normal to find me drinking out of the dirty water they wash the boots in! You wont get much action from me, unless you try to steal me chair!
